Gourmet Cooking Classes Hands-on Instruction and Videos

Thank you for your interest in cooking classes at Oak Mountain. There are two things that most people look for in a cooking class: a knowledgeable Chef who has depth of experience and most importantly, FUN! We offer both with all the take-home material you will need (including a cook book with all recipies) to make sure that you are successful with your cooking at home. Temecula Catering is unique in Temecula as the only hands-on classes, which is the best way to learn. Oak Mountain offers monthly events, private cooking classes for groups of 10 or more as well as FREE cooking class videos.

Hummus

Chef Mike of Temecula Catering demonistrates how to make the Middle Eastern favorite Hummus. Hummus is a dip composed of chickpeas, or garbanzo beans, and tahini, a paste similar in texture to peanut butter that is made from sesame seeds. Hummus is typically eaten with pita or other flat bread. Because both chickpeas and sesame seeds are wonderfully healthful, hummus is a nutritionist's delight. Chickpeas are a good source of protein, potassium and fiber. Sesame seeds are also a source of protein, along with vitamin E and a powerful antioxidant. So when you blend them together into hummus, you're really cooking!

Chef Mike of Temecula Catering demonstrates how to make the popular Arab dish Baba Ganoush. It is a disk of eggplant (aubergine) mashed and mixed with various seasonings.
